In a world absorbed by technology, painting remains a remarkable connection to our earliest forms of expression. I’m not interested in recreating what already exists; instead, I use paint to explore new forms that carry emotional weight. Images may guide me, but only as points of departure from one work to the next.

My practice moves across a spectrum of painterly expression, influenced by the raw immediacy of Abstract Expressionism and the composition, light, and movement of the Renaissance. Onto these foundations, I layer contemporary cultural references and personal experience, aiming to merge a classical sensibility with a modern, instinctive energy.

Across series such as Renaissance Reconfigured, The Blue Period, and Trampling Over the Classics, I reinterpret art-historical motifs through expressive mark-making, layered textures, and atmospheric colour. Whether creating bold abstractions, large-scale commissions, or vivid portraits, my work is less about giving answers than posing questions — a continuous search for something elusive, perhaps never fully attainable.
