in design and advertising photography," said Banks. "This was incredible visual training. I had to make exciting images from anything that was put in front of me, be it an object or a location. In those years, I really honed my eye, perfecting my feel for position, form and lighting." Art motivates every level of his being. "It's the reason I get out of bed every day. My own personal tagline is "The world is full of hidden beauty," he said. "I live to reveal that." Banks' artwork is purchased by all the major players-IHG, Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, AccorHotels, Four Seasons, Kempinski, Hard Rock and Best Western, and is, therefore, seen by many guests. texture of a leaf, the movement of the sea, and more.

It's everywhere. "I'm a visual junkie. I really do analyse, dissect and enjoy everything I see," he said. The artist's inspiration is found in the graphic architecture of a city, a shadow on a wall, and the Art in a hotel context can be either highly visible or almost invisible, he noted. "If it's very visible, that's great. I hope it makes a guest stop for a moment, trace the image with their eyes and have a positive subjective experience about what they are seeing," he said. "I hope it evokes a happy memory or provokes the pleasure of a new reaction. However, it's okay for my art to be almost invisible, blending holistically into the overall interior design scheme. It becomes a team player with the fixtures and fittings and is a component of the overall spatial experience. I am happy for my art to operate at different speeds of visibility."
